Whole30 Meal Prep Secrets :: Prepare the Basics and Learn to Mix and Match

    March 5, 2018 / 1 Comment

I recently shared some of my background and experience with the Whole30 program and one of the biggest (not so secret) secrets of being successful when it comes to doing a Whole30 or eating healthy in general is to plan ahead.  Life is messy, the day-to-day is busy and unexpected things and stressful situations often come up with the potential to derail the best of intentions.  Besides, as Melissa Hartwig and Dallas Hartwig wrote in The Whole30, your brain loves a plan.  Planning ahead reduces decision fatigue, the need to resist temptations or exercise self-control.  By setting aside a little time each weekend for meal planning and prep, I have…

Choosing to Invest Time Wisely and the Value of Meal Prepping

    September 25, 2017 / 1 Comment

Throughout conversations in my recent travels and with my visitors this weekend, I have come to the amazing realization that it has already been almost TWO years of our living in Ireland. This is shocking to me and proof of the fact that the although the days themselves seem to be long, the years are in fact quite short and time absolutely does fly by. A common theme for my 2017 has been on the topic of using the resources that I have at my disposal to live a more satisfying, meaningful, and happier life. Over the past several months, I have been studying and reading extensively on the topic…

Planning to Succeed: Meal Planning and Prep Tips & Tricks

    August 14, 2017 / 6 Comments

I LOVE PLANNING. Like obnoxiously so. And I don’t mean just the super fun things like parties and vacations. I mean everything from the totally mundane daily to do list to my five year plans. We did not have much advance notice of our relocation to Ireland (understatement) so we planned and executed our entire wedding in five weeks from start to finish (along with the help of many amazing friends and family members). In the six days following the wedding, we packed up our entire Boston apartment in labeled boxes numerically coded and their contents detailed on a corresponding Excel spreadsheet for customs. I have detailed out every exercise…

About Me

Hi!  I’m Miranda and I am beyond excited to have a platform to share my passion for cooking real (but still delicious) foods, enthusiasm for all things barre, and thoughts and ideas on a building a more healthy, holistic, and happy lifestyle. I am a Christian, a wife, a puppy mom, a nutritional therapy practitioner (NTP) in training, and a barre and Pilates instructor who recently became a homeowner back home after living as an expat in Ireland for a few years.  Aside from getting sweaty working out and experimenting in the kitchen, I love to read, write, learn, travel, and spend time with friends and family.
