Deep breath.

To be honest with you, I have dreamed about starting a food and lifestyle blog for at least three years now. But as those who know me know – I am quite a perfectionist. This has held me back considerably with thoughts that if I can’t make this absolutely flawless and beautiful and inspiring and novel (insert countless more adjectives) from Day One, then it is pointless. I have also many times thought that there are already innumerable excellent resources and blogs out there and that I cannot offer anything unique enough to be anything but more noise. However, I have learned a lot over these past few years and as part of my continual development of my growth mindset, I am genuinely ok if no one ever reads this aside from my best friend and/or my mom (although admittedly, my mom is an exceptionally busy lady who may or may not read this blog, but I digress 🙂 ). As part of my own happiness project, I now know that this is something that I am passionate about and that I want to do for me – regardless of whether it is viewed by millions or literally no one.

I have come a long way in my understanding of health and whole living over the past few years and have learned so much about just how much the way that I personally eat impacts nearly every other sphere of my life. The food that I choose dramatically impacts my emotions, energy, skin, sleep, mental clarity, athletic performance, sense of accomplishment, body composition, general health, and the list goes on. More importantly, I have become aware of how and why I eat and the association and relationship with food and other events. I am more attuned to my body and am no longer using food for comfort/reward/punishment.

But this also goes beyond food to my passion for fitness and a more happy and holistic lifestyle. And I am acutely aware of the fact that I am far from having things all figured out, but I am enjoying the process and journey. Therefore, I plan to share recipes accompanied by my thoughts, findings and bumps along the road here, in hopes that in some small way this helpful (or at least delicious) to someone else.

XOXO,
M
